Cover Reveal!

I love cover reveals!

As an author, one of the most exciting moments of publication is when I see that first draft of a new book cover. I can't wait to see how the graphic artist has interpreted my story into a beautiful, eye catcthing cover. It makes the whole story more real for me.

That being said, I love to support fellow authors in their cover reveals. It is such a treat for me to share with all of you what might be the next big thing in reading!

So with out further ado, let me introduce you to Keir.

 A demon waiting to die...

An outcast reviled for his discolored skin and rumors of black magic, Keirlan de Corizi sees no hope for redemption. Imprisoned beneath the palace that was once his home, the legendary 'Blue Demon of Adalucian' waits for death to finally free him of his curse. But salvation comes in an unexpected guise.

A woman determined to save him.

Able to cross space and time with a wave of her hand, Tarquin Secker has spent eternity on a hopeless quest. Drawn by a compulsion she can't explain, she risks her apparent immortality to save Keir, and offers him sanctuary on her home-world, Lyagnius. But Quin has secrets of her own.

When Keir mistakenly unleashes the dormant alien powers within him and earns exile from Lyagnius, Quin chooses to stand by him. Can he master his newfound abilities in time to save Quin from the darkness that seeks to possess her?

Keir is Book One of the Redemption series and part of the Travellers Universe. Previously released by Lyrical Press Inc. 7th May 2012 and a SFR Galaxy Award for SciFi Romance for Best May-December Romance (2012), Aspen Gold Readers Choice Award 3rd place finalist (2013), Readers' Favorite International Book Award finalist(2012), The Kindle Book Review’s Best Indie Book Awards Nominee for Best SciFi/Fantasy (2013)

After spending twelve years working as an Analytical Chemist in a Metals and Minerals laboratory, Pippa Jay is now a stay-at-home mum who writes scifi and the supernatural. Somewhere along the way a touch of romance crept into her work and refused to leave. In between torturing her plethora of characters, she spends the odd free moment playing guitar very badly, punishing herself with freestyle street dance, and studying the Dark Side of the Force. Although happily settled in the historical town of Colchester in the UK with her husband of 21 years and three little monsters, she continues to roam the rest of the Universe in her head.

Pippa Jay is a dedicated member of the Science Fiction Romance Brigade, blogging at Spacefreighters Lounge, Adventures in Scifi, and Romancing the Genres. Today's The Day!

Witness Protection is FINALLY available in print! For those of you who really like the feel of a book in your hand, this is the day.

Paperbacks are available right now at the publisher's website Breathless Press

If you are asked if you want to create an account, I highly recommend it. BP rewards its customers with points that translate into dollars towards free books- both ebook and print.

The paperback will also soon be available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

One of my favorite characters in the book is Logan's Aunt Clara. She is comedic and adds a little flavor to the story. Aunt Clara visits author Allie Kincheloe today where she talks a little bit about raising three boys on her own, why she lives on top of a mountain and what she hopes to accomplish before she dies. To see what she has to say, click the link below.

Meet Aunt Clara!

Another exciting stop on my blog tour this week was at Love, Romance, Passion where I shared a little about my latest inspiration- a local farm house full of historical nostalgia and the setting for the third book in my Defenders of Love series.

The farm is owned by a local business and they have welcomed my desire to put it in a book with open arms. I am very excited to return for another visit.

Birthdays and Other Things

Tomorrow my youngest son turns nine. I have called him my baby for so long I am having difficulty coming to terms with him NOT being a baby anymore. We don't do large parties to celebrate- we keep them small, usually just family and because of this everyone always has a great time being together. My little nephew rolled at least a hundred gutter balls today when we went bowling while his baby sister discovered just how heavy bowling balls can be. My husband and my two boys, who are all very competitive, played nearly the entire two hours. Everyone had their fill of pizza, cupcakes and family time.

It is tradition in our family that the birthday person gets to pick a place for all of us to go for dinner. Once again, it is a family gathering where we all laugh, joke and enjoy each other. Since the death of my father in 2010, I have begun to hold on tight to these times with my family because you never know when they might be gone. My boy's chosen meal is the Chinese food buffet...not my favorite but for a nine year old boy a room full of food has to be exciting!

Two days after the big birthday dinner my first print release with Breathless Press will be available.

I am very grateful to my fellow authors for all their support this weekend. I have had the privilege of being a guest on several blogs even before my "official" blog tour begins.

If you are interested in checking either of them out, I am including the links below. Both of these ladies are amazing writers so take a moment to check out their blogs and see what they have going on. You won't be disappointed!

Liana Brooks- Check out her Villains series!

J M Powers- Author of the best historical book ever!

Today is also my day to be in the spotlight as a debut author over on the Romancing the Genres blog. If you want to see a new and unique excerpt to Witness Protection, this is the place to be.

Well, this momma is exhausted. Too much fun for my old bones today I guess. Have a great weekend!

Curled Up With a Book

It's unusually cold here today in the south. I had an unexpected day off from work as both of my boys are sick. The temperature has consistently dropped and it actually feels like snow in our neck of the woods- not a common occurrence but it does happen.

I used the unexpected day to get caught up on some work related to my upcoming releases and somewhere in the middle of it all, I fell asleep on the sofa. With one sick child curled up in bed playing on his Kindle and another sitting at the table working on an assignment his science teacher emailed to me, the house was quiet and invited a nap.

The cold weather just sucks the life out of me!

At least winter is a great time to get a little reading done. There are so many books being released this month from Breathless Press that I can't help but get excited.

Two books from the same line as mine, the covert line that are being released in print this month have my Witness Protection in good company.

Released last week was Jinn and Toxic by Frannie Armstrong. This is next up on my to be read list.

'Toxic Tango Troop' is an elite team of soldiers tasked with halting the illegal shipment of drugs from Mexico. For a team that doesn't officially exist, someone across the border knows their every move. They were betrayed by one of their own and captured by the very people they were sent to terminate.
Jinn Dennison, and her twin Julie, are a military secret weapon, sharing a unique psychic ability that links them. When Julie disappears, Jinn covertly takes her place in order to find her before time runs out.
At least, that was the plan...Tab 'Toxic' McIntosh has one of his own. His sister was taken by the Iceman, a notorious drug runner, and he wants her back no matter the cost. Using Jinn as bait seems like the only reasonable method to save his sister.
Things don't always go as planned, especially when Jinn and Toxic fall in love. Can they battle against all odds to win the day, or will they die trying?

Order your copy here!

Don't forget to join me for debut author month on Saturday January 17th when I visit Romancing the Genres and discuss why I write romantic mysteries.

Romancing the Genres Blog

They have a great post today about the impact of the Baby Boomer generation on book sales.

Whether you love to read or to write or both, keep warm and be blessed.

A New Take on An Old Tale

Today I would like to welcome the talented story teller Shelli Rosewarne with a new take on a familiar nursery rhyme.

Welcome Shelli!

Hi all, and thanks  for having me over to visit!

I'm really excited to share my new release, Scarlett Legacy, which a paranormal romance inspired by the fairytale of Little Red Riding Hood. I've always loved fairytales and this is my own take on a classic from my childhood – though, erm, it may no longer be suitable for children ;) Damian is definitely a big bad wolf with a difference, and while Natalia might look good in red, she's not the sweet, little girl who's going to get pushed around. I really hope you give them a try!

Blurb

What if the fairy tales were not only real, but had it all wrong? Come meet a Big Bad Wolf like you've never seen before.

When Natalia rents a holiday cottage she is looking for peace and quiet, a place to reassess her life and recover from her failed relationship. Instead she finds a man who turns her world upside down.

However, people and things are not as they seem, and Natalia begins to find that legends are real and fairy tales have a basis in reality. As she grows closer to the enigmatic Damian she finds herself tested as danger and passion go in hand in hand, and everything she thought she knew about the world will be questioned.

After years of waiting Damian had given up hope that he would ever find his destined mate, and he certainly never expected her to be a sassy American who has no idea that his world even exists. Can he convince Natalia to believe in the impossible, and more importantly, can he protect her from those who seek to destroy his people.

Excerpt

Damian's jaw clenched as he watched her amble through the woods, seemingly lost in her own world and paying no attention to any possible dangers. He lifted his head, breathing in deeply to take in her scent on the drifting breeze. While he'd been expecting a reaction it still hit him like a sucker punch in his gut. His stomach clenched and his body hardened.
His inner beast was already raging at him. The burning need to mark her, to possess her, rising up within like a force of nature but he grit his teeth and forced it down. He was not some undisciplined pup unable to control himself. Years of leading his people had driven into him patience and control above all else.
Instead, he forced himself to stay hidden for now, easily keeping pace with her. She was exactly as he'd always imagined—dark curls flowed down her back and framed delicate features, high cheekbones, and huge dark eyes with thick lashes. Everything about her drew him in, but he'd waited too long to rush things now.
When he'd first sensed her, that indescribable pull that couldn't be anything else, he'd thought he was going crazy. He'd given up hope long ago, and yet there she was, walking through his woods as though she'd always been meant to be there.
He watched as she paused, looking around her with confusion on her face. She turned in a slow circle, her brow furrowed, and her teeth biting into her lush bottom lip. She was lost, he realized. Well, that was just perfect. His teeth bared in a wicked smile, he could go and "rescue" her. She would think he was Prince Charming when actually he was the big bad wolf.

Well, hopefully I might have tempted you J You can find Scarlett Legacy at:

New Book Release- Moon Dance

Good Saturday Morning! I have a new book for you all to check out. I have not read it myself but it has definitely made my to read list!  Enjoy!

Instant Attraction or Slow Burn?

Thank you for having me on your blog.

How does it work for you? Are you the instant attraction type or do you need to take your time? My girls Raya and Amari both have their reasons for wanting to take it slow and easy but the thing with attraction is that when it hits – it hits!
So what do you do? Be sensible and step back or jump in with both feet? The girls decide to jump in and enjoy the moment. The only problem is a discovery related to Raya’s past put’s their fledgling relationship at risk.
What happens next? Well they…. Not going to tell you! But I will leave you with a teaser.

Blurb.

A quick pick up and a night of sex was just what Raya was looking for. Only meeting Amari set her insides on fire and she had to have more of this Indian beauty. Witches and shifters aren’t meant to bond only Raya and Amari can’t ignore the chemistry flowing between them. Trouble strikes the lovers when a past trauma hits Raya and Amari’s mother could be to blame. Finally Raya has a chance to get even with the old witch, who destroyed her life. When that revenge reveals that Raya’s past holds secrets she wasn’t aware of, it throws into question everything she believes in. Can the lovers unite to help Raya find her true self or is it all too late?

Excerpt.

Energy swam around them as they swayed to the music. Amari was uncertain what the track was. Some rock with a heavy baseline. Why could her brain not work out what it was? She knew a lot about music: it was her refuge when times were hard, which seemed to be constantly the case at the moment. Making friends was easy; however keeping them was another thing. Once people got close and they realized how strange she was they often walked away, which was why tonight had been odd. These two seemed to want to get to know her. Early days yet. Amari closed her eyes, letting her body drift to the music. A spark of energy hit her and her eyes shot open. Raya was talking to her again, with her hand on her shoulder.  The energy sparked again around them both. Amari was not certain what was going on. The power was not balanced; there was something else in it.

"This is a track by a band called China Dragon. I gave Lonnie their EP to broaden her collection. Do you like it?" Raya asked.

All Amari could do was turn her head and look at the hand Raya had on her shoulder. That's where the energy spark was emanating from Raya's touch. As though she sensed Amari was not comfortable, Raya let her hand slide away.

"Yeah, I like it," was all Amari could think to say. Raya looked down at her, holding her gaze. Raya's green eyes looked confused. Amari could sense her feelings; they floated to her through the air between them. What was happening? Amari knew she was sensitive to other people's thoughts or feelings, especially if they were close to her or touching although this had never happened with total strangers. Usually this bond was with family members or close friends who were open to the Craft so what was happening here was not making sense to her.

Debut Author Month and Other Things

I am sitting here listening to the Top 20 of 2014 countdown on CMT and lamenting the fact that I have to return to work on Monday. Being home for the past two weeks has been nice. Lots of family time, plenty of rest and all the time I wanted to write and edit. I even indulged in one of my other hobbies- crochet. I am not highly talented at it but I really enjoy it. A friend of mine who prefers to knit and I are collaborating on a baby blanket for a colleague of ours. She knits the squares, I crochet a border and then connect them into an afghan. It has been very therapeutic.

One of my resolutions for 2015 is to learn to make granny squares. I would like to make some personalized gifts for my closest friends and family members for Christmas next year. I need to start now though if I hope to finish in time!

I belong to a group on my favorite social networking site that posed two questions this morning: "What are you thankful for from 2014?" and "What are your goals for 2015?" Of course, I am ever thankful for the turn my writing career has taken in recent months. It has long been a dream for me to share my passion for storytelling with the world and it is overwhelming and exciting that it is finally happening. I am every thankful for the safety of my husband at work every night and the blessings my two sons are to me.  I am terrible at making resolutions because I always end up feeling like a failure when I don't keep them but I will be giving this some thought. 2015 is a blank slate and I want to fill it with memories.

January is debut author month at the blog Romancing The Genres and guess who is guest posting on January 17th?? I am very excited for this amazing opportunity that just so happens to coincide with the print release of Witness Protection!

If you are not familiar with this blog, it is hosted by several published authors that write everything from contemporary romance to young adult to inspirational novels. Here is the link if you would like to check it out:

Book Release! Making Waves by Juliet Chastain

January is cold. Making Waves is Hot. Check it out!

About the Book

Passion combusts at seaside, with hot and heavy love-making in the sand, in the ocean, and even in the bedroom.

What's a shy fourth grade teacher to do when she is washed up at the feet of a hot young surfer? Nathalie burns with desire for Kai, but fears he will find her too old. Can she let her inner cougar roar?

                                                ***

This is how the story begins:

The surfers call it the green room. A wave catches you. Down you go and around and around as though you were inside a washing machine. Not nice. I tumbled over and over, no idea of what was up or what was down, desperately holding my breath while what felt like gallons of seawater pumped painfully into my sinuses.

And then bang! I slammed head first into the shore and a pair of sun-tanned legs.

I lay stunned, my face on someone's foot and the rest of me on a bed of tiny prickly seashells.

A pair of hands pulled me to my feet as a masculine voice said, "Better get up before the next wave catches you." I couldn't have agreed more.

One quick glimpse of sparkling blue eyes before the next wave shoved me into him real up-close and personal. We rocked slightly, but thanks to the sturdy stance of my rescuer it didn't knock us over. Lucky, as I hadn't caught my breath yet.

He turned us around, so the waves slammed into his back instead of mine as he danced me out of the water while I noisily sucked air, happy to know which end was up, glad to be alive.

I became conscious of being held tightly against a solid male body. A very solid, mostly naked, male body. I was under-dressed myself.

He released me, saying. "You're all safe now." I looked up, still a bit dazed, into a movie-star gorgeous face. Wide, sensual mouth, strong chin, dark straight brows, and heavy lashes, which—be still my beating heart—curled. To add to the effect, the low sun behind him made a halo of his damp, dark blond curls. I figured I'd drowned in the green room and gone directly to heaven, although not exactly the one they'd told me about in Sunday school. This heaven would be a whole lot more fun.

And, indeed, Nathalie has a whole lot of steamy fun with her surfer boy.

A warm and sunny romance that is guaranteed to heat up the cold winter months. Available in the following locations right now!

Happy New Year!

2015 rolled in pretty uneventfully in this household. The kids managed to stay awake until midnight while I continually fell asleep on the couch. We had a nice night as a family eating Chinese food and watching a movie together. Low key and relaxed. We don't get a lot of family time these days so to me it was the perfect way to ring in the new year.

Today we met with mom, had some pizza and some family time before my honey had to take a nap for the night shift. My youngest wanted to take his new remote control car out in the dark because it lights up so we bundled up when the sun went down and hit the street. It was awfully cold for a southern winter!

If you followed my previous blog, welcome to my new home and thank you for joining me here. I have high hopes for this new year. I haven't set any traditional resolutions because I am still working on the ones from last year. I do have some professional goals that I hope to achieve and I look forward to all of you celebrating with me as they are accomplished.

Many of you may already know, I just signed the contract for the second book in the Defender's of Love series. Titled Homeland Security, it is the story of how Kaiden James, cousin to Logan James of Witness Protection discovers not all women take issue with a man's call to duty.

I am also looking forward to the release of Undercover In Six Inch Stilettos set to be released in early spring. The book is the first in a new series, The Secret Lives of Police Wives about, you guessed it women married to police officers with a penchant for finding trouble and a talent for crime solving. Stay tuned for a cover release in the near future! I am very excited about this series. It takes romance in a new direction with plenty of action and...um... extracurricular activity... with sexy men in uniform.

If you belong to Goodreads, mosey on over and check out my new author profile. I had no idea how to utilize this feature but I have an amazing editor who is full of great knowledge and she willingly shares it with me. Thankfully!
